With your purchase you get a crib plus a crib mattress, suitable for a child from birth to about 3 years old. Remove a side panel and lower the mattress for a toddler bed that should last until your child is around 5 (no conversion kit necessary). For an infant, convert the crib to a cozy bassinet (conversion kit sold separately). For an older child, it becomes a junior bed, lasting until about age 7 (conversion kit sold separately).
